Wildfire risk bumped up to high

The wildfire risk for the region has been raised from low to high.

Sustainable Resource Development says that’s because of possible thunderstorms and high winds, even though temperatures will go down later this week.

There aren’t any fires close to Fort McMurray right now.

Two large complexes are burning more than 60 kilometres north of Fort Chipewyan, and and another is in the Wood Buffalo National Park area.

They’re all being held or under control.
