Another Driver Caught Excessively Speeding on Highway 63

Wood Buffalo RCMP stopped a vehicle Tuesday morning just north of town at 8 o’clock doing 76 km/hr over the speed limit. Police arrested the 30 year old male 10 km north of Fort McMurray after clocking him at 176 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The driver, who has been released from custody, is facing a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and is expected to appear in court on October 10, 2012.

Police would like to remind all motorists that speed limits are put in place to aide in keeping our roadways safe. The RCMP, along with their law enforcement partners, will continue to enforce and educate on the rules of the road, do your part and abide by the posted speed limit.
