Oil sands company exploring Chinese joint venture

More chinese investment could be coming to the oil sands.

Sunshine Oilsands says it’s held talks with China Petrochemical Corporation, the biggest refiner in China.

The company is based in Calgary; it has 71 billion barrels of oil sands reserves, and CEO John Zahary says they could form a joint venture plan in less than a year.

Sunshine will start commercial production next year, starting with three 6-thousand barrel per day projects and eventually expanding to 200-thousand.
