As a complement to other Events Wood Buffalo productions, EWB is launching Fort McMurray’s newest festival, Big Spirit, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.
Purported to be the “world’s greenest carnival,” Sustainival will be a feature of Big Spirit with free live music, rides and traditional carnival fare.
Festivities kick-off on Aug. 31 with Sustainival, a green carnival with rides and a midway at the Snye. The 25 rides, including the Zipper and the Scrambler, will be powered by recycled vegetable oil.
Sept. 2 and 3 will feature live music from two Juno Award winners, Digging Roots and Kiran Ahluwalia.
Free workshops by both artists will be held. Registration is required as space is limited.
