The municipality has now confirmed it does own the Oil Sands Hotel; and is asking for bids to demolish it.
It put out request for proposal QU2843 last month, asking for bids to demolish the building and remove the asbestos.
The bidding process closes tomorrow at 4 o’clock.
The RFP says the demolition should be done by October 12th.
The long standing businesses closed this past summer, the city confirmed it’s buying the land to use for the downtown redevelopment.
