Harvest of Hope: A fun night out for a great cause

The Canadian Cancer Society’s Harvest of Hope Celebrity Waiter Dinner was held Saturday night at the Sawridge Inn.

The packed room was waited on by a cast of celebrity waivers, some in tuxes others in costumes ranging from babies to The Joker.

Mayor Melissa Blake danced with MLA Don Scott (who was sporting a new hair do) and event emcee Country 93.3’s Jerry Neville took a pie to the face for $250.

One of the many highlights of the evening included Danielle, a brave 24 year old woman who volunteered to shave her head for a $10,000 donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. Guests rallied together and raised over $11,000.

Event organizers say close to $170,000 was raised.

Thank you for all the celebrity waiters. Your creativity made this a memorable night out for all who attended.
