September 29, 2012 marked the much anticipated third annual SMS Equipment Wine Auction in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters raising net proceeds of $88,000 for the local children’s charity.

We’re extremely grateful to the continued support from our sponsors and the community without which this event would not be possible,” says Danielle Murgatroyd, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Wood Buffalo. “The Wine Auction has grown so quickly in just three short years allowing us the ability to expand our programing and shorten our current waitlist of children anxiously waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.”
All proceeds raised from the SMS Equipment WINE AUCTION will support safe and caring mentorship that Big Brothers Big Sisters provides to children and youth in our region in need of a positive role model and bring them closer to achieving their goal to provide a mentor to every child on their waitlist.
The WINE AUCTION has become a must-attend event for anyone who enjoys fine wine and spirits and is attended by some of the most influential community members and business owners in the region. Guests who attended this year were transported into an atmosphere, combining luxury and antique inspired accents as they enjoyed fine wine among friends, delicious hors d’ oeuvres and live music provided by two-time Juno Award winning entertainer Oscar Lopez.
