Physicians like staying in Alberta, and Alberta is proud that it attracts and retains them.
Over the past 10 years it has seen a 60-percent increase in the number of physicians which is more than double the national average of 24 percent.
Minister of Health Fred Horne says in a release that it’s because they are paid the best in the country and have the chance to work in world-leading health facilities.
On average they are paid 29 percent more than the national.
