At the time, Lynn Redford was a senior executive at the Calgary Health Region.
She is now VP of special projects for AHS.
Through a Freedom of Information request, CBC News discovered that she was in all or in-part using publicly-funded institutions such as the Calgary Health Region to donate to politicians.
Alberta law states that this is illegal.
Reports show that she has used almost $3,500 in taxpayers money for expenses relating to Tory events.
She spent over $200 for drinks and liquor at a Tory barbeque.
The expenses were approved by Patti Grier, who is now chief of staff and corporate secretary for AHS.
