US Senator John McCain is looking for parliamentary hearings on the Nexen-CNOOC takeover bid.
He says that the hearings would help people understand what the impact of a takeover would be.
On the other hand, Premier Alison Redford is rejecting it saying that there is no justification for McCain to get involved.
Industry Canada is still weighing the proposed $15.1-billion bid of Calgary-based Nexen and China National Offshore Oil Corporation.
