October goes down in the history books as the busiest month in Fort McMurray Airport history.
During the month almost 86-thousand people traveled through, which is a 30 percent increase from last year.
Traffic is up 17 percent this year.
Nine of the past ten months the airport has broken passenger records.
This year YMM leads the country in passenger growth as compared to the growth of major national airports for the first nine months of this year.
Further growth is expected with the addition of non-stop international flights to Mexico beginning December 19th.
In 2014 the airport expects to see close to 1 million passengers.
