Drug testing injuction looking to be overturned

Today Suncor will be in front of a three-judge Alberta Court of Appeal panel to try and randomly drug test all of its employees.

Local 707 CEP union was earlier granted a temporary injunction saying that it violated privacy rights.

Before Suncor could resume with its proceedings, a labour arbitration board was ordered by a judge to rule on a union grievance about the policy.

It is now looking to have the injunction overturned so it can go ahead with the testing.

It says that since 2000 there have been three deaths related to drug and alcohol use.
