No charges in CNRL’s Horizon oilsands coker explosion

No charges are being laid in the case where an explosion injured five workers at an oil sands site.
The explosion happened at Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. Horizon oilsands site in January of 2011.
It happened in the coker and sent flames high into the sky.

Alberta Occupational Health and Safety investigators looked for any possible safety violations.
Provincial officials determined that a conviction wasn’t necessary.
