Cold Lake calls for Highway 28 twinning to match 63

There are more calls to twin highways in Northern Alberta.

Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland says Highway 28 from Edmonton to their town is becoming just as dangerous as Highway 63.

But the government’s already committed 26 million dollars to twin it within the city, and says it’s only got about half the traffic that most highways that get twinned have.

The province recently committed to finish twinning Highway 43 from Grande Prairie to Highway 16 by next fall, and Highway 63 to Highway 55 by 2016.
