The city has a new fire chief.
Acting Fire Chief Darby Allen has accepted the position of leading the department full-time.
He’s been part of the municipality’s Emergency Services Department for the last three and a half years.
He says there’s a lot of work to do as they transition to a medium sized department.
Allen was assistant deputy chief of training and recruitment and deputy chief of operations before reaching the top job.
Before that, he worked in Calgary, and Hampshire in England.
