Saskatchewan's Premier urging U.S. to approve proposed Keystone XL pipeline

Premier Alison Redford isn’t the only one lobbying the Keystone XL pipeline in Washington, so is the Premier of Saskatchewan.

Brad Wall will be heading to Washington not only to tout the proposed line, but also highlight his province’s green initiatives.

He met with Redford to compare ways to get their message across on the importance of the pipelines approval.

It would ship Alberta bitumen through Saskatchewan, and then down across the border to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Redford says with the decision just around the corner, that all hands are on deck.

This comes after comments from President Barack Obama on the importance of nations coming together to fight climate change.

Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to make the decision this spring.
