Enbridge ordered to dredge river after oil spill 2.5 years ago

Enbridge has to do more cleanup at its big oil spill that happened more than two-and-a-half years ago in southern Michigan.

A pipeline ruptured and heavy oil ran into the Kalamazoo River.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says that its still finding oil in parts of the river and has ordered Enbridge to do more dredging to remove it.

The agency issued a report last year criticizing the company’s spill response.

It hasn’t helped the Calgary-based company that’s trying to get through a federal review of its proposed Northern Gateway pipeline that will run from Alberta to the B.C. coast.
