The future of Suncor’s $11.6-billion Voyageur upgrader is looking bleak.
A review has been completed and a decision on whether the company will go forward with it is expected before the end of the month.
The Globe and Mail reports that the company could redeploy its money to other projects like expanding Firebag and/or MacKay River sites.
Last month, Suncor took a $1.5-billion write off on the Voyageur project that’s a joint-venture with Total E&P.
