The province and the Alberta Teachers Association have come to a tentative four year deal after two years of discussions.
It will see salaries frozen for the next three years, with a 2-percent increase and a one-time lump sum payment in the fourth.
The province also promised to look at teacher’s workloads which was the cornerstone of the agreement.
Teachers and school boards now have to vote on it.
The last agreement expired August 31st, and the ATA has turned down the last two offers.
