After-hours clinic temporarily relocated

The first and only after hours clinic has temporarily relocated.

The Wood Buffalo Primary Care Network originally opened it on the 3rd at the River City Centre downtown.

Spokesperson Jordan Hiltunen says its a minor hiccup

“Technically speaking, it’s a minor plumbing problem, it should only take a week or two to resolve.”

It has moved up to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre’s multipurpose clinic.

“It’s unfortunate that we have to be seeing patients in a different venue as opposed to the lovely new clinic that we have,” says Hiltunen, “but at the end of the day all that really matters is that patients are still being seen and there’s been no decrease in patient service.”

The clinic in the hospital is still open from 5PM until 10PM weekdays and 10AM until 10PM weekends.

Hiltunen says it hasn’t affected the number of patients using it.

The clinic is to help people who have a hard time accessing clinics in regular daytime hours.
