Sportsnet is reporting that the Edmonton Oilers have fired general manager Steve Tambellini after a 16-18-7 start to the season.
Former Oilers head coach and the team’s current vice-president of hockey operations Craig MacTavish will take over GM duties, while Oilers scout Scott Howson will take over as VP of hockey operations.
