McIver in Fort McMurray to give highway 63 update

Alberta’s Transportation Minister will be in Fort McMurray tomorrow to talk more about this year’s highway 63 construction projects.

Ric McIver will be at the Jubilee Centre to talk more and give an update on the highway 63 construction, which is facing construction this year on its way to being twinned by 2016.

The province announced last October the entire 240 kilometre stretch of highway 63 from Fort McMurray to highway 55 will be twinned by 2016.

Just over one fifth of that section has already been twinned.

Alberta Transportation announced a couple of weeks ago that construction will be ongoing on 63 all summer, but no additional twinning would be done.

McIver will be joined tomorrow by MLAs Don Scott and Mike Allen, and RMWB Mayor Melissa Blake.
