TransCanada: Surprised by EPA comments

TransCanada says it’s been thrown a curve ball by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Yesterday for a second time, the EPA publicly attacked the U.S. State Department’s approving review of the proposed Keystone X.L.

TransCanada says the EPA recommends more analysis of greenhouse gas emissions from oil sands crude compared with U.S crude oil.

But, it says the EPA ignores the fact the Canadian crude will be delivered by pipeline, which will force out heavy crude from Venezuela and Mexico.

It says its relationship with the EPA has been a cooperative one, through the more than four years the projects has been up for review.
