Suncor has begun planned maintenance on its Firebag SAGD project north of the city.
Suncor says it will work to minimize impacts on its neighbours and the environment over the three week period.
Last month was Suncor’s least productive for this year, production was down more than 50,000 barrels per day conmpared to March.
The 322,000 bpd in April were up 35% from last April.
