Total SA saw mostly decreases in its first quarter numbers this year.
The French oil company’s net income was over 1 and a half billion euros, which is over 2 billion Canadian dollars.
However, that’s almost 57% less than first quarter 2012, which was about 4.8 billion dollars.
As well, net operating income was at 2.2 billion, down from last year’s 5 billion dollar mark.
A big factor that lead to Total’s numbers was the cancellation of the Voyageur upgrader project, a joint operation with Suncor.
The 20-billion dollar upgrader was supposed to open north of Fort McMurray.
