Temperatures and winds lift wildfire hazard to moderate

Because of high temperatures and heavy winds, the wildfire hazard has been lifted to moderate.

Alberta Environment says that the Waterways area (where the RMWB falls) has had only 1 fire in the past month.

It burned about 1,000 square meters before it was extinguished.

There is rain in the near future, but temperatures will stabilize into low 20’s as we head into the next.

While many new wildfire starts are detected by a lookout tower dependence also relies on the community  to report them.

If you see smoke or fire in the forest, call 310-FIRE.
