According to a New Brunswick Mayor, oil sands producers need to understand the importance of an east bound pipeline.
Saint Johns’ Mel Norton and other delegates were in Alberta talking about the now-dubbed, ‘Energy East’ pipeline.
Last month, TransCanada said it wanted solid support from shippers before it decides whether to go ahead with the proposal of converting a natural gas pipeline to one that could carry crude through to Quebec.
The project could also see a 1,400km extension that would ship the crude further to the port city of Saint John, which is also home to Irving Oil – the nations largest oil refinery.
