3 local teachers are getting a good grade from the province.
Trudy Dwyer from Sister Mary Phillips School, Kitty Cochrane and Diane Rizzuto from Ecole Dickinsfield Public School have been awarded with 2013 Excellence in Teaching Awards.
Only 20 educators province-wide are being recognized, and they stems from the 129 semi-finalists announced last month.
Since 1989, over 9-thousand teachers have been nominated and over 500 have been awarded.
They show a number of skills including leadership, creativity and innovation, working well with colleagues, and creating positive learning environments that motivate students.
The provincial government is putting on an award ceremony in Edmonton on Saturday, and they will each be given up to $4,000 for professional development.
