FMPSD announces new superintendent

After a national search the public school district has announced its new superintendent of schools.

Doug Nicholls will start the job, including the job of CEO in August.

He has worked in both rural and urban areas as a teacher, department head, school administrator and division office leader.

The past 13 years has been spent as a CEO that also include the past 7 as a superintendent in southern Alberta.

In a release he says he’s looking forward to lead the district and to live in one of the most dynamic regions in the country.

He’s taking over for Dennis Parsons who in December announced he will be finishing up his 5-year contract.

The district has over 5,400 students across 13 diverse schools.
