Albertan Tory MP quits caucus via Twitter

Conservative MP Brent Rathgeber decided to quit the caucus through twitter last night.

His tweet says it branches from his irritation with the Harper Government’s “lack of commitment to transparency”

The breaking point seemed to be when a Tory-dominated committee rewrote his private members bill that was designed to expose the salaries of senior federal civil servants.

He suggests he won’t resign from his Edmonton- St. Albert seat and he’ll continue to support the Harper government when it’s fitting.
