Flood Watch issued for region

The municipality is under a flood watch because of rising water levels in the Hangingstone River just south of town.

The alert says people ought to be cautious of the rising water and take precautionary measures, including avoiding any flood damage.

The city is advising people to stay away from riverbanks right now because water is moving quickly and shorelines could be unstable.

50 people have been evacuated from Anzac because of the water.

Lions Park on Tolen Drive is flooded and has been closed by the municipality.
