Westwood student finalist in 3rd annual Google Science Fair

Among 90 regional finalists in the third annual Google Science Fair there were four Canadians and one is a grade 12 student from Westwood.

Last month Anam Rizvi won the Senior Silver Medal at the Regional science fair as well as the Shell Health Service Award and the Suncor Award for engineering.

Her showing won her the opportunity to present at a country-wide science fair where she also received a silver medal.

She registered herself in the Google Science Fair who selected her for her Automating the Diagnosis of Heart Conditions.

On the 27th Google will announce 15 students selected to participate in the finals at teh Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California.

Rizvi is also the president of the provincial champion Westwood Robotics Club who also got to compete at a world championship in California last month.
