The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are bidding for a major tournament in 2015.
The team’s board of directors voted yesterday to send a letter of intent to the AJHL, saying the team will bid to host the Western Canada Cup in two years.
That’s the championship of the four western provinces; the top two teams from that tournament advance to the RBC Cup.
Fort McMurray last hosted that tournament back in 2000.
