The Northern Kickoff has sold out today, in a little over five hours.
The pre-season CFL game between Edmonton and Saskatchewan was announced earlier this month, and will be played in 2015 at the new Shell Place.
Manager of Communications at MacDonald Island Adam Hardiman says they weren’t surprised the tickets were so hot.
“Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo time and time again has shown their support in a community setting and in terms of events like this, ” he said.
“So we are in no way surprised of the excitement and enthusiasm as it relates to the ticket sales selling out today.”
He says organizers may yet look at adding temporary seating to accommodate more fans.
