Enbridge turns on pipeline after being shut down 10 days ago as a precaution

Enbridge says it restarted the Wood Buffalo Pipeline after it and 2 other lines were shut down as a precaution 10 days ago.

It runs between Fort McMurray and Cheecham and was shut down with 2 other lines as a precaution after 750 barrels of synthetic crude leaked from Line 37 into a wetland area near Anzac.

Line 37 serves CNOOC’s Long Lake SAG-D project and is being fixed, but the other 2 went back online last week.

The company is blaming the leak on the heavy rainfall 2 weeks ago that caused the ground to shift.

Product that would’ve been delivered by line is being delivered by truck.

On Sunday, the northern part of its Athabasca Pipeline to Cheecham became operational at reduced pressure.

The southern part of it to Hardisty was put back online at normal pressure on the 23rd.

On the 25th it turned its Waupisoo line back on.
