City Council will vote tonight on whether to approve a new Land Disposal Strategy, which could potentially add private developments to properties all across the Snye, including Borealis Park.
However, the city says the park itself would not be redeveloped, it would only possibly add private development to the area around it.
The area that’s being proposed runs right along the Snye, from Richard Street until just before Riedel.
The area north of Morimoto Drive won’t be auctioned; it’s categorized as a recreation zone.
People and companies interested in buying the land will still need to prove that their plans would match up with with City Centre Redevelopment Plan.
