Confederation Way interchange will switch back to lights Sunday

Alberta Transportation says the Confederation Way interchange will switch back to the lights on Sunday.

It says there will be 2 lanes going up Confed and 2 lanes going down.

But during rush hour, from 5AM to 9AM there will be 3 lanes going down the hill and 1 lane will be bus only from 5:45 to 7:45.

The detour is scheduled to finish at the end of August.

The interchange is scheduled to be done by October 31st.

The province says it has to close the overpass so that it can widen on-ramps for new bus lanes, and do some grading work.

It says this is the last major traffic disruption for Confederation Way, before the project is done.

The overpass cost 180 million dollars to build.
