Highway 63 added to RCMP's helicopter patrol route

RCMP are watching for speeders on Highway 63, but not just from the road.

Superintendent Howard Eaton says the RCMP’s aerieal surveillance helicopter is up and the highway’s been added to the patrol routes.

He says they don’t need a radar, to catch the fast vehicles, a stop watch works just fine; police record the time a vehicle takes to get between painted lines on the road.

Signs are up, so drivers know the road is aircraft patrolled, but he says it often surprises drivers when they get busted.
