MLA Mike Allen returns to Alberta after arrest in Minnesota

Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo MLA Mike Allen is back in Alberta after announcing his resignation from government caucus.

CTV Edmonton reporters caught up with him, where he told them he’s not offering any excuses.

“I truly regret evrything that has occured, I’m still waiting for official charges to be laid,” Allen pauses, “I’m happy to be home.”

The reporter then asked if he thinks he’ll be charged.

Allen replied, “I truly don’t know.”

Allen went on to say, “I have no excuse for my actions, just that it occurred, and I’m here to face the music, and that’s up to my constituents.

He was down in the states attending the Council of State Governments Midwest.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, he was one of 13 men arrested by undercover cops on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.

Allen moved to Fort McMurray in 1993 to purchase Campbellā€™s Music, he became a city Councillor in 2007 and he also served two terms as President of the local Chamber of Commerce.
