New poll shows two-thirds of Americans back approving Keystone X.L.

Another poll shows more than two-thirds of Americans back the long-delayed Keystone X.L. oilsands pipeline.

The National Journal polled 1,002 people and found less than a quarter oppose TransCanada’s $5.3-billion project.

Republicans were more in favor, but so were 56% of Democrats which could suggest that President Barack Obama wouldn’t face a serious threat at the polls if he gives the project the ‘ok.’

Independents were almost evenly divided.

Obama’s  expected to make decision on it later this year.

A poll in April shows the majority of both Americans and Canadians support approving the project.

According to Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars that’s 74% of Americans and 68% of Canadians.
