The Premier’s media relations spokesperson Stefan Baranski says on twitter that Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo MLA Mike Allen repaid the cost of the taxpayer funded trip
Baranski says it cost $2,061.44.
According to City TV Edmonton, Premier Alison Redford called Allen’s action “disgusting.”
A decision from U.S. prosecutors on whether to charge Allen on a possible gross misdemeanor charge is expected by tomorrow.
Depending on the specifics, the MLA could face a minimum $1,500 U.S. fine, or a max of a year in a low security jail and a $3,000 fine.
Allen was arrested on suspicion in engaging in prostitution while south of the border attending the Council of State Governments Midwest.
