I.T.U. charges 3 motorcyclists with racing, 1 with dangerous driving on 63

Some motorcyclists are facing driving charges after traffic stops on Highway 63 this weekend.

The Integrated Traffic Unit says Friday, 3 were charged with racing after getting caught going 148 kilometres an hour in a 70 zone going up Beacon Hill.

One of them was also charged with driving uninsured and had his bike impounded.

On Saturday, just north of Confederation Hill, it caught a 22 year old doubling the speed limit, clocked at 200 kilometres an hour and he’s been charged with dangerous driving

Four other motorcyclists were charged with speeding Friday.

One was caught going 135 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, one was caught going 165 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, another was going 162 km/h where the limit is 110 km/h and the last was caught doubling the limit and clocked in at 120 km/h.

All eight drivers have mandatory court dates, and face fines and license suspensions.
