A BBQ for Heritage Park’s flood recovery fund made $122,403.65 yesterday.

It was hosted by Bertini’s Catering yesterday and ups their fundraising total to over $400,000.

Owner, Real Chartrand says he’s still looking for donations.

“We raised a lot of money today, I had given myself a goal of half a million dollars, we’re a bit short, so we’re going to make this happen and we’ll have the half a million to help restore our beautiful Heritage Park.”

The park’s Executive Director Roseanne Davidson says it’s still assessing but so far the damage is into the millions.

She says their working with the government to also help with flood mitigation measures.

“We don’t want this to happen again, so what are we going to do to improve Heritage Park,” she adds, “there’s a lot to do, but I’m encouraged moving forward.”

She says they hope to have it rebuilt to open next summer.
