Field study on the region's air contaminants happening until mid-September

A new study focusing on patterns of air contaminants in the region is happening over the next six weeks.

It’s part of a joint Oil Sands Monitoring Plan between the feds and the province.

The monitoring plan was created last February to help strengthen monitoring related to air, water, land, and biodiversity in the oil sands region.

The field study will happen at two main locations, both of which are close to Fort McKay and some open pit oil sands mines.
