Super-wide load starts trek from Lloydminster to Fort McMurray Tuesday

Another wide-load will make its way to site north of the city and in total it’ll take 5 days.

It will take up the entire two-lane highway including shoulders and will close traffic temporarily overnight, between the hours of 10PM and 6AM.

Friday, it’ll start on 63 from Atmore to the Fort McMurray staging area.

Starting at 11PM Saturday it will move from there, through the city, and make it to site.

It’s over 11 metres wide, over 12 metres tall and weighs over 362-thousand kilograms – which equals the combined weight of 600 bull moose.

SCHEDULE:

–> August 20 – Lloydminster to Two Hills Weigh Scale on Highway 16 (westbound lanes) and then north on Highway 36.
–> August 21 – Two Hills Weigh Scale to Radway Weigh Scale on Highways 36, 29, and 28.
–> August 22 – Radway Weigh Scale to Atmore on Highways 28 and 63.
–> August 23 – Atmore to Fort McMurray Staging Area on Highway 63.
–> August 24 – Fort McMurray Staging Area through the urban area to site north of Fort McMurray on Highway 63 starting at 11 p.m.
