82 year old American billionaire investor Warren Buffett’s company now owns a stake in Suncor that’s valued at more than $500-million dollars.
Buffett’s firm, Berkshire Hathaway, owned 17.8 million Suncor shares as of June 30, according to a a Securities Exchange Commission regulatory filing published yesterday.
In the same filing it did show that he made a bigger investment into General Motors.
Suncor’s stocks rose about $1.18 to $34.97 in trading yesterday because investors try and copy Buffet, who is known for his successful investments.
Suncor has seen a closing of the gap in the cost of oil barrels, benefiting from the increased oil by rail shipments.
