Edmonton Police arrest suspect in sexual assault case in Fort McMurray

Edmonton Police arrested a man in Fort McMurray on Thursday in connection with a serious sexual assault that happened in the Abbottsfield neighbourhood of Edmonton on August 3.

Jason Ben Moes, 33, has been charged with break and enter and commit assault, assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, disguise with intent.

The crime happened just before 9:30 on the morning of August 3, when police got a 911 call about a break and enter at a townhouse.
Witnesses saw the suspect break in through the ground floor at the townhouse, where he physically and sexually assaulted the 22-year-old woman that was in the house.
The victim was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
