A coalition of 54 groups are demanding the Auditor General to look at pipeline safety in the province.
The public interest groups wrote the Premier expressing their disappointment with last week’s report by Group 10 engineering.
The study was commissioned last year after a number of pipeline spills and recommended improvements for pipelines near water, and favored the province’s rules already in place.
The groups say the report was limited to the province’s regulations and didn’t look at enforcement or certain leaks.
The coalition says it’s not the report residents deserve and they’ll petition for more examinations.
The province’s New Democrats have asked for the same thing.
