The Alberta Energy Regulator is looking over an application from Cenovus to grow its Christina Lake SAG-D project.

Phase H expansion of the Phase A through G central processing facility would up bitumen production to 310,000 barrels per day as well as increase steam production.

AER says the oilsands company also applied to expand its currently approved project east.

It would add 743 well pairs on 72 pads to total 2,155 SAG-D well pairs and 203 pads.

The Phases are located about 20 kilometres southeast of Conklin and 120 kilometres north of Lac La Biche.
