AG to look into safety of oil and natural gas pipelines in Alberta
The provincial auditor general is taking a good hard look at the safety of oil and natural gas pipelines in Alberta.
Merwan Saher told the opposition Wildrose party the audit will include how in-line pipeline companies are with government regulations.
It will also look at how they’re inspected and the enforcement of rules.

Last month, more than 50 public interest groups called for a review after a government-commissioned report said Alberta has favourable pipeline rules.
